Company History

Ever since he was young, Alf Buccieri was fascinated with snow and ice.  Something about it captured his imagination.  But growing up in Brisbane, Australia's sub-tropical climate, he didn't often get the chance to play or enjoy snow.  So Alf decided that if the snow wasn't coming to Brisbane, he'd find a way to bring it there himself. 

In 1984, Alf invented Permasnow, which enabled year-round indoor skiing. It was first displayed at the Sydney Ski Show in 1986 and received world wide publicity when used in 1988 at the Switzerland Pavilion at the World Expo 1988.

Over 6 million people visited the ski slope that operated over an uninterrupted 6 month period.  Alf's company, Buccieri Snow Making, now provides snow for indoor ski facilities, events, zoos and other venues all over the world.

Alf had also created several snow-making toys for his children, and was looking for a way to let his kids make snow and ice. Over the years, he developed and perfected his Magic Freezer Cubes, the patented secret behind our first product, Slushy Magic.  Slushy Magic is now distributed worldwide by Ontel Products.  
 
We recently developed the Aussie Ice squeeze cup, which launched on QVC in November of 2011 and goes into wide distribution in 2012.  That’s just the tip of the iceberg here.  More great products are already in the pipeline.
